Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: Your favorite running costumes or outfits You can write about any running related topic. This week’s I’m going to be talking about maintaining workouts during hard times. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
I’ve been waiting for this topic! If you have followed me on Instagram for a while you know that I love a good running costume, especially during the holidays! I love to dress up and I think it just makes the whole race or workout experience better.
Christmas
I love this shirt and wear it every December!
I found this shirt at Target and it quickly became a favorite in my Christmas shirt collection. I think that Elf is one of the funniest holiday movies I have ever watched.
Accessories are also a fun way to jazz up your running outfit. I got both the hat and scarf from Kohl’s. The scarf has penguins on it so you know that’s an automatic win in my book, lol.
Thanksgiving
This was more original turkey costume that I purchased years ago. I love it because it’s really lightweight and easy to run in.
Last year I upgraded to a more ‘hardcore’ turkey costume. To be honest, it was pretty hard to workout in when I wore it to an OTF class, but I think it would be okay to wear for an outdoor run.
I love these ‘Run Now, Gobble Later’ shirts that I ordered from Gone For A Run a few years ago. Costumes are great but I also love a good themed shirt too, especially when you can add accessories.
St. Patrick’s Day
My city has a local St. Patrick’s Day 5K every year that’s super fun. It’s always the first race of the year in my city so the turnout is usually pretty good. My mom and I picked up these shirts from Old Navy a few years ago and usually wear them for the race.
Tell me: Do you have a favorite running outfit or costume?

You have the best costumes and t-shirts! I’m not a fan of running in a costume but I do like dressing for a holiday!
kookyrunner says
I love that you can find holiday themed shirts at so many stores these days!
Kimberly Hatting says
I actually had a draft-in-process when I saw this was the theme for this week, so thank you!!! It’s no secret I love color and creativity, so I had a lot of fun putting my post together. It pretty much wrote itself (as I’m sure was the same for you). You always have the best outfits. That turkey costume is #BADASS!!!
kookyrunner says
I knew that you would have a fun time with this topic!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Your costumes and memes are always spot on, Kim — and I bet everyone around you loves them too!
I have zero costumes. I do have a few fun hats and that’s about it! I think that says something about me, LOL!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! I have noticed that not too many people dress up here for the local races which is disappointing, but I hope that changes eventually.
Catrina says
Yep, you are definitely the Queen of Costumes, Kim! Your outfits are hilarious!
I also love your mum’s red shirt in the second photo.
I’m wondering – is there a holiday that you don’t have a themed shirt for?
Deborah Brooks says
You do have some great costume ideas! Always makes running more fun when there is a themed race
kookyrunner says
It really does! I especially love the themed 5K races.
Denise says
I don’t like costumes because I don’t like having anything extra on. I wore a tutu for the tinker bell half and it bugged me the whole time. Your costumes are great though and I love all your tops!
kookyrunner says
I wore a tutu for an OTF class last year and it drove me nuts so I totally understand where you are coming from, lol.
Darlene says
You are awesome. Love your outfits.
I dress up for Christmas but that’s it.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! It just makes the run or race more fun for me 🙂
Angie says
Obviously, I need to step up mu running outfits games! I love all of yours–so fun!
I am the most blah person when it comes to running. LOL. As long as the shorts are longer than normal, I am ok.
kookyrunner says
I also love the longer shorts! I can’t wear the typical shorter lengths because they always rise up and then it looks like I’m wearing underwear lol.
Jessie says
You have an outfit for every holiday! I love it. The turkey is my favorite of course 🙂
kookyrunner says
lol thanks Jessie – the turkey is my favorite too!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
I haven’t really worn any good costumes for a run but there are some really cute themed tops that I always like. You always know how to be festive!
kookyrunner says
I love the themed tops because you can still ‘dress up’ but not have to wear a costume. It’s the best of both worlds!
Jenny says
When I saw this was your topic for today I got excited because I somehow knew you would have some great outfits! I love that you have not one, but two turkey costumes. I like to make things fun, but it’s so hot here I hate to wear anything extra. I need a turkey tank top.
kookyrunner says
LoL, thanks Jenny! I’m not the fastest runner so I like to add a little pizazz to a race when I can, lol. I usually only dress up for shorter races like 5Ks, I’ve never done a half marathon in costume – that would be rough!
Zenaida Arroyo says
You have the BEST costumes! I can imagine how much fun it must have been to write this post.
kookyrunner says
It was so much fun and enjoyable to pull up old photos!
