Happy Friday! It’s a new month and it’s time to set new goals! I can’t believe we’re already in June. No matter how crazy everything gets, I always like to set monthly goals because I find that they help to keep me focused.
These were my goals for May:
Complete all the Peloton Rock 22 Classes
Grade: B+
I tried to get through as many of the classes as I could in May but I fell short. I still have a few outdoor and treadmill running classes to complete, but with 115 classes in the Rock 22 collection, I’m still pretty pleased with getting through over 100 of the classes.
Take intentional work breaks
Grade: A
I was very good about taking breaks during the work day last month and I think it made a huge difference. Not only did it help me mentally, but physically as well – I noticed I didn’t have as much lower back pain.
Here are my goals for June:
Complete Robin’s #3for31 Challenge
I’m so happy that Robin brought this challenge back for June! I did the challenge in December and it was a great way to hold myself accountable throughout the month when things got hectic. What’s the challenge? #3for31 is 3 miles on foot (walk, jog, or run) or 30 minutes of movement every day in June. That’s it, no rules. If you need to split up the 3 miles or 30 min of movement to get it done, that’s fine!
We start June 1st and end on July 1st. Join the #3for31 tag on @onepeloton, high-five each other on the leaderboard for support. I’m doing the 3 miles a day option. Screenshot the graphic below if you want to track your progress this month!
Participate in the Orangetheory Fitness Remix in Six Challenge
This is a new and free challenge and the only requirement is that members attend 15 classes in six weeks, starting on June 13th. It’s definitely easy to fall out of a routine as the weather gets warmer, so I think this is a great way to stay on track and hold yourself accountable. I think each studio will have different themes each week but my studio hasn’t announced anything yet.
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for June?
I’m linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida for Fit Five Friday!
Darlene S. Cardillo says
Walk breaks from the computer is a great idea.
That was a tough peleton challenge. Congrats on getting so close.
Good luck with your June goals.
I do not set any but I hope to continue to stay healthy physically and mentally. And focus on the positives.

The walk breaks have been doing wonders for my back!
Coco says
Great goals as usual, KIm. Robin’s challenge bugs me since there are only 30 days in June — which is why it runs to July 1!
kookyrunner says
Yeah I noticed that – Probably would have been better to have the challenge in July, lol.
Michelle says
I’d say you did a great job getting through so many of the Rock 22 classes!
I’m glad Robin’s challenge is back too! I hope to hold to the 3 miles daily – extra motivation to keep my #optoutside streak going. That OTF challenge sounds like a good one too. Happy June!
kookyrunner says
I love Robin’s challenge – definitely motivates me to hit those 3 miles a day. Although I run almost everyday, sometimes I don’t hit 3 miles, especially if I just do an OTF class or a 20 minute run. I like that you can mix it up with walking as well.
Marcia says
I love that you were intentional about taking work breaks. That is a great idea. I only made it to the silver medal on the Rock Challenge. I don’t even remember why I didn’t do more. Our daily walks would totally cover Robin’s challenge!
kookyrunner says
You, your daily walks would totally count for the #3for31 challenge. I think Robin picked a great time to re-introduce this challenge. There seems to be stress everywhere these days, so it’s nice to have this challenge has motivation to get in daily movement.
Kimberly Hatting says
Oops. I have gotten slightly off track with the monthly goals, at least in terms of doing them EVERY month. I did set a goal for daily core workouts for May, and stuck with it (though I don’t think daily core is really a necessity in the grand scheme of all the other stuff I do). You’ve rocked (most of) those Rock 22 classes!
kookyrunner says
I think setting any types of goals – daily, weekly, monthly, yearly – is great! It’s all about what works best for you.
Wendy says
I love that you set monthly goals. I don’t. Right now, I’m just trying to hold it together…
kookyrunner says
I can totally relate to what you’re saying. It’s been hard the past few weeks with everything going on in the world.
Liz Dexter says
Well done on the breaks, good to hear they helped, too. Some good goals there, too.
I have a tough couple of months coming up as my two main running companions are going to be out, one for wedding and honeymoon related reasons, one because of a new medication, so keeping my miles up and going out solo more are my aims for June and July …
kookyrunner says
Thanks Liz! I hope that you’re able to get in a good amount of solo runs in June and July.
Renée @runlaugheatpie says
Getting 100 classes out of 115 is kind of amazing! I hope you can see that. I’d put it as a A-. Just sayin 🙂
the 3 for 31 actually sounds like a great idea. I was sitting on the couch earlier thinking it’s time for those morning walks again. AND taking breaks. Work has been so stressful and I have not been taking proper breaks. Now that I had some disappointing news regarding my “new” function (at the “old” pay scale apparently) it’s time for me to scale back again and take care of me.
You’re so right about falling out of a routine in the spring/summer. I actually just joined the gym again yesterday to get back into a better routine!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Renee! I will agree with you and give myself a A- for the Rock 22 classes 🙂
Sorry to hear about the work stress 🙁 You’re so right about scaling back and making time to take care of yourself, that’s so so important.
Jenn says
Doing amazing, as always! I didn’t set any goals this month. I’m just trying to get by!
kookyrunner says
I 100% understand that!
Zenaida Arroyo says
You rock! I saw Michelle post about the challenge but didn’t know what it was about. I wonder if my walking in class adds up to 3 miles.
kookyrunner says
I bet your walking in class would totally add up to 3 miles!
Cari says
100+ classes. I’d call that an A
I’m totally with you on the work breaks. It’s part of what I like about the office days as I’m not always as good as I should be a bout getting out while home.
kookyrunner says
Sometimes it can get a little lonely working from home but I have to admit that there are way more perks working from home vs going into the office. Sure, I definitely work way more hours at home, but I also have more flexibility with my schedule which is nice.
Cari says
Yes. Way easier to run errands when not in midtown. But the free seltzer is nice here
